Christmas Presence Day 9

Pray:

9 Pray like this:
Our Father in heaven,
may your name be kept holy.
10 May your Kingdom come soon.
May your will be done on earth,
as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today the food we need,
12 and forgive us our sins,
as we have forgiven those who sin against us.
13 And don’t let us yield to temptation,
but rescue us from the evil one.
Matthew 6:9-13 (NLT)

Read:

13 After the wise men were gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up! Flee to Egypt with the child and his mother,” the angel said. “Stay there until I tell you to return, because Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”
14 That night Joseph left for Egypt with the child and Mary, his mother,
Matthew 2:13-14 (NLT)

3 We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. 4 We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NLT)

The struggle against accusation, temptation, lies and deceit is an ongoing reality. Satan is alive and on the offensive. We are his target. He wants to take us as prisoners of war. He is whispering in our ears, accusing us, questioning God, creating doubt, and luring us to worship the things of this world. He is the author of the false views of God and salvation. He wants to attack the truth about God and how we relate to Him. He does not want you to know God. He does not want you to believe that God loves you. He does not want you to be with God for eternity. God does love you and you do know Him. You are not defeated. The battle has already been won. The outcome cannot be changed. The only attack that the enemy can deploy is to make you think you are losing the battle and to distract you from God. His only tactics are lies, accusation, temptation, and appeals to your appetites. You do not have to listen. But, you must humble yourself and resist him.

7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.
James 4:7-8 (NLT)

Pray:

Lord,
Give me discernment. The voices and thoughts in my head are assailing me. Help me to know the difference between Your voice, my thoughts, and the attack mounted by Satan. Help me to know that he is waging a war against me in my mind. Unveil his tactics and show me how he lies and accuses. Show me Yourself and do not allow me to be misled and lied to regarding who You are and what You have done for me. Make me a mighty warrior against the spiritual powers of darkness.

I cling to you;
your strong right hand holds me securely.
Psalm 63:8 (NLT)

Amen
